People
commit crime for selfish reasons. Do you agree? Discuss.
Crime for Selfish Reasons?
It is normal
for people to describe the world as a dog eat dog world where we are sometimes
need to literally hurt others for our own survival or good. Hence, it is not
surprising for us to see an increase in crime in our society as human loves to
be malevolence instead of benevolence to their fellow human. Thus, it is not
wrong to say that most of the people commit crimes for selfish reasons.
People might commit crime for their
own selfish reasons as they might affected by their own selfish desires like
greed, lust, anger, jealousy and revenge. However, we cannot solely say that
all the crime committed are for their selfish reasons. There are lots of another
reasons we should consider.
First and foremost, people commit
crime may be for their own safety and to defense their beloved ones. In some
cases, they only want to protect themselves from any danger and harm but
accidently harm others. Do you still remember about a murder case which a
father was murdered by his own biologically son? The son does not kill his
father just for fun but he annihilated his father to protect his mother, who
was brutally abused physically by his father.
His father also often kicking, punching him like a bag and beating him.
One day, he saw his father beated his mother, he cannot hold it anymore and
accidentally killed his father when he tried to raise up against his father to
protect her mother. Ones can commit crime in order to defense themselves and
their beloved ones.
More over, psychology and mental
health should be considered. Psychology is a condition where our emotion and
behavior are considered normal or abnormal. Sometimes, people are too tired,
have lots of problems which can cause the accumulation of stress. Stress can
distort ones’ mental health. This may lead ones to be out of their minds as
they might heard “whispering” that asked them to do something insane like
killing their own parent. In 2009, Malaysian was shocked by the news of a
grandson that raped his own grandmother and kills almost entire of his family.
After an investigation was conducted on this matter, they found that the
grandson had a mental problems. People can commit crime unwillingly as they may
have a mental problems.
Last but not least, the false religious
view or should I say the fake belief can also can be one of the reasons why
people commit crime. The most suitable word to describe is heresy. Nowadays,
there are lots of heresy has been practiced by people like Bahai and Suhai.
These heresy has lots of unbelievable ritual like killing people with other
belief is permitted. Some of them feel like they are obligated to these “holy”
ritual. Thus, this leads them to commit crime without they realizing their wrong
doing.
In conclusion, there are many
reasons which causes people to commit crime. However, there are many ways to
overcome the increasing of the crime. If only all party can co-operate and have
conscience, I am sure the crime can be reduced.
